Chashaku is a traditional tea scoop used in the Japanese tea ceremony. This chashaku, characterized by its distinctly sharp bend, models itself after the "Arima-Yama" chashaku made by Kobori Enshu, a famous tea master and garden designer in the 1500s. It is said that Kobori Enshu made the original chashaku Arima-Yama during his stay at the Arima hot springs, using bamboo from the Arima mountains.
One heaping scoop of matcha powder is roughly one gram.
Notice: Due to the chashaku being handmade, there may be slight variation in appearance.
